Overview

By Light is looking for enrgetic and responsible candidate to intern as a communication specialist in support of our client at the VA.

Responsibilities

Work under the guidance of the project manager and senior team members to help:

    Design and develop communication announcements in various formats such as HyperText Markup Language (HTML) and Portable Document Format (PDF).
  • Create and distribute a virtual monthly newsletter, (known internally as a "QuickClick").
  • Design, implement, and support communications content on the existing internal/external websites.
  • Assist in supporting the client on the Cybersecurity Awareness and Communication Subcommittee in support of Cybersecurity Awareness Month (CSAM) and Information Security and Privacy Awareness Week (ISPAW) by writing articles, creating graphics for communications and SharePoint sites, creating activities such as a crossword or word find, and creating posters for download.
  • Design, develop, and alter logos, mission statements, and communication strategy documents based on guidance from the client.
  • Design and develop presentations, talking points, web content, Congressional responses, and other products based on guidance from the client.
  • Provide editorial reviews and corrections of VA developed content ensuring content is grammatically correct, spelling errors are corrected, and VA style guides are adhered to.
Required Experience/Qualifications
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Strong ability to write clearly and concisely with correct grammar and punctuation
  • Ability to work with a variety of people in a deadline-driven, high-accountability, team-oriented environment
  • Must have strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail required
Preferred Experience/Qualifications
  • Experience with a graphics tool a Plus
