Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Elmendorf Air Force Base. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with Spectrum Healthcare Resources, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive occupational rehabilitative services to our esteemed patients.

Requirements:

    Degree/Education: Associate degree for Occupational Therapy Assistant from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
  • Certifications: Certified in occupational therapy through the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant after graduation.
  • Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant.

Duties and Responsibilities: As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Elmendorf Air Force Base, your core duties will include:

  • Providing a full spectrum of occupational rehabilitative services under the plan of care of a credentialed provider.
  • Utilizing assessment tools, intervention techniques, and treatment modalities under the direction of a credentialed provider.
  • Delivering complex/multi-step instructions to patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals, adapting instruction methods according to individual learning styles.
  • Identifying, recommending, and fabricating complex adaptive and assistive devices, durable medical equipment, and complex dynamic splinting after consultation with the occupational therapist.
